CHOOSE TO SEE GOD’S GLORY

When I look at the earth, what are some of the things that I see? Do I see only the bad? Or do I see what God sees?

“For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters that cover the sea.”

AS THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD INCREASES, SO DOES THE GLORY OF THE LORD UPON THE FACE OF THE EARTH. I CHOOSE TO SEE GOD’S GLORY.

Habakkuk 2:14 KJV

SELF-CONTROL

In the past, cities were fortified with walls to keep them safe from invading neighbors. When the walls were in a state of disrepair, the city was susceptible to enemies from without.

When I lack self-control, I open myself to all sorts of “enemies” bombarding me daily. Anger, frustration, jealousy, impatience, envy are just a few.

Self-control comes from God.

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith, goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control…”

I HAVE SELF-CONTROL BECAUSE GOD HAS GIVEN ME EVERYTHING I NEED FOR LIFE AND GODLINESS.

2 Peter 1:3-6 NIV

Under His Wings

A mother hen protects her biddies by gathering them under her wings. In danger, the chicks rush to the covering of their mother’s wings.

“I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust…He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under His wings shall thou trust: His Truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”

WHEN I FACE SITUATIONS TOO GREAT FOR ME, I WILL TAKE REFUGE UNDER THE WINGS OF MY FATHER’S TRUTH AS FOUND IN HIS WORD.

Psalm 91:2, 4 KJV

Listen to Your Parents

“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.”

God gave me parents for protection and correction until I can function by myself. They program me with correct and acceptable actions and reactions until I can make my own decisions.

My parents would never allow me to do something that would harm me. They would never tell me to do something that would be wrong or damaging to me.

I WILL LISTEN TO MY PARENTS BECAUSE THEY ARE SET IN AUTHORITY BY GOD.
Proverbs 1:8 NIV
